The Half-Pint

Our new kids race. 1km around the fields of Grindsbrook. Parents welcome to run with their kids. Prizes for different age groups. Lots of fun

Can be entered on the day.

Race Information

The Half Pint Race will start at 2:00pm from Newfold Farm Campsite.

 

The 1km route through the fields below Grindsbrook has the same start and finish as the Kinder Barrel and Pint races. The terrain is undulating and uneven but follows a clearly marked route and is well marshalled.

The timing of the races has been arranged so that all Barrel Race and Pint runners will be back on the field to cheer on the kids in the half pint race.

 

 Prize Giving for all races will be at 3pm


 

Rules and Regulations

The Kinder Barrel Race - Half Pint Challenge is a trail race for under 16 year olds which celebrates the landscape and traditions of the Peak District. These rules have been drawn up to ensure everyone can take part in a safe and enjoyable event.

 

The Half-Pint race follows a 1km route through the fields below Grindsbrook with the same start and finish as the Kinder Barrel and Pint races. The terrain is undulating and uneven but follows a clearly marked route and is well marshalled.

 

Fundamental rules

  • Everyone involved in the event is required to show respect for the safety and welfare of fellow participants, for members of the public, and for the Kinder Scout environment. 

  • Marshalls will be present on the route; parents and guardians must ensure that participants follow marshal guidance and instructions to ensure safety for all.

  • Parents and Guardians are welcome to run the route with their children.

 

Entry

  • Entry is online via the website www.kinderbarrelraceedale.com or on the day at the Marshal Station

  • The entry fee is £5, payable in full on entry.

  • Cancellations are non-refundable.

 

Before the start

  • Race numbers should be collected on the day from the Marshal Station. Participants must allow time before the start of the race for number collection.

  • The race will start at 2pm.

 

The route

  • Participants should follow the designated marked route.

  • Participants should take extra care when overtaking owing to the nature of the route.

  • Participants must cross fence lines along the route using either gates or stiles, to avoid damage to property. 

  • Any participants unable to complete the route must report to a route marshal.  

 

Awards and the award ceremony

  • The Thackett trophy will be presented to the overall fastest runner.

  • Prizes will also be awarded to the fastest runner in the following age groups

    • 0-4 years

    • 4-8 years

    • 8-12 years

    • 12+
